Bringing the Wackenborner Daily Post to Life: Behind the Scenes of Film, Prints, and Creative Collaboration.
It’s been a busy few weeks, juggling work and creating content. I’ve been shooting rolls of film, making content for other artists, and now I’ve reached an exciting phase—printing and sequencing my images. I’ve also been speaking with friends about selecting and sequencing photos, as well as brainstorming ideas for my Wackenborner Daily Post project. Here’s a glimpse into the process of bringing it all together. See you soon!
Inspiration Through Photo-books.
Welcome to another blog post. Today we will look at some of my favorite photo-books, and recent pick-ups. Three photo-books that have inspired my approach:
1. "Songbook" by Alec Soth– Soth’s work captures community life and personal interactions, resonating with my goal of showcasing everyday village stories.
2. "Spanish Summers" by Gerry Johansson– Johansson’s evocative landscapes inspired me to portray Wackenborner’s character, highlighting its atmosphere and subtle beauty.
3. "These Dark Mountains" by Giulia Degasperi – Degasperi’s work explores the poetic and mysterious aspects of landscapes, inspiring me to capture the emotional depth of Wackenborner.
The project is in progress; I’m developing the film, with more to come soon! - T
The Wackenborner Daily Post
Since starting "The Wackenborner Daily Post" project, Terrance has been exploring his neighborhood with fresh eyes. Despite having spent years biking, driving, and walking through Horingen, he realized he had never fully tapped into the visual opportunities his village offers for a photo project. Over the past few weeks, he’s been capturing scenes and moments around the village—sometimes met with wary glances from locals who are puzzled by his camera. It made him wonder: why does documenting everyday life sometimes feel so unsettling for others?
This idea first emerged during COVID, when Terrance and his friend David toyed with the notion of acting as “local photographers.” Back then, it remained just an idea. But now, with a renewed sense of purpose, the concept has taken shape, and it even has a name: *The Wackenborner Daily Post*, courtesy of his friend Tim, who casually suggested it.
As this project unfolds, Terrance is excited to share more details soon, taking on the role of Horingen's own documentarian. Stay tuned for the first snapshots from *The Wackenborner Daily Post*!
Goodbye Internet
It all begins with an idea.
Stepping Away for a New Chapter
Terrance has decided to take a break from all social media starting Friday, the 25th, to dedicate his focus to exciting new projects within his village. While he may not be as active, he’ll still be sharing progress updates through Instagram and YouTube, primarily centered on the work he’s doing in his community.
He’ll also be keeping a blog on his website, functioning as a daily diary to help him stay accountable and reflect on the journey.
A huge “Thank You” goes out to everyone who has supported him so far—your encouragement means the world. See you all soon!
